No More Training Wheels!

Colby decided he was ready to learn how to ride a bike with no training wheels. We borrowed Kaden's old bike to try it out. Colby took off on the first try! I was so proud of how well he did. His balance was great, but he still needs some practice on stopping. Look at him go!

Even when he falls he still has a smile on his face!

Carson was out there too trying to keep up with his big brother. Everytime Colby fell, Carson would fall on purpose! Too funny!

The first official week of summer was great! Our summer began with a trip to Killeen and Austin. We went to Austin for my friend Amber's wedding. Jeremy had a softball tournament on Saturday so I made a deal with him...if he would keep Carson he could stay and play. He agreed, but not before he found a babysitter : ) I was looking forward to a little road trip with Colby. He is such a sweet boy and I love hearing what he has to say. It's a lot easier to listen to him when it's just us and no distractions. So, Colby and I loaded up and headed out of town, but not before stopping by the hospital to visit Old Mimi. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance on Wednesday night. She was really weak and her blood pressure was low. She was in the hospital for a few days and now she is at a rehabilitation facility. Hopefully she will be able to return to her place soon.

Colby and I drove to Killeen on Friday and stayed with Gretchen. I was so excited to see her new house. Colby and Brady played together and we all just hung out. It was nice to spend time with her family. Saturday morning we went to Grace's softball game and then drove to Austin. Saturday night we went to Amber's wedding. Colby has a blast at the reception...he danced all night long and even learned the Electric Slide! Then on Sunday we went to the pool and then drove home. I really enjoyed my time alone with Colby but we were happy to get home and see Carson and Daddy!

Our first week of summer was busy! Colby went to Vacation Bible School and absolutely loved it! He had so much fun! We also started swim lessons on Monday. The boys are both doing great! On Tuesday I took Carson to 2 year old story time at the library. I thought he would enjoy it more than he did. Carson does not like to sit still and listen to stories for very long. We will try again next week and see how it goes : )

Friday night we went to the Ranger's game. We took Colby when he was a baby, but Carson had not been to a game yet. Carson is OBSESSED with baseball. He talks about baseball all the time and always wants to play catch or hit the ball so we knew he would love being at the ballpark! We all had such a great time. There was a fireworks show after the game. Colby is always excited to see fireworks, but Carson did not like them at all! He said "that scare me!" and put his head on my shoulder and wouldn't look at them.

So, that was our busy first week of summer. I love having this time to spend with the boys...they are such a fun age right now! It was a fun week and I am looking forward to lots more fun this summer!

Boy Talk

I love listening to the conversations between Colby and Carson. Usually the conversation is led by Colby and Carson just agrees with whatever he says. Their topics of discussion vary...toys, TV shows, bathtime, food, school, teachers, swimming...whatever is going on. Last night we were in the car on the way to Jeremy's softball game and I couldn't believe the conversation Colby and Carson were having in the backseat.

Colby: "Carson, do you have a girlfriend?"
Carson: "Yeah"
Colby: "What's your girlfriend's name?"
Carson: "Zoe"
Colby: "How many is she?"
Carson: "Two"
Colby: "Two like you, Carson?"
Carson: "Yeah"
Colby: "Did you kiss Zoe, Carson?"
Carson: (giggling) "Yeah"
Colby: "You kissed her?!?!"
Carson: (giggling) "Yeah"
Colby: "Is she pretty?"
Carson: "Zoe, pretty."
Colby: "Carson, are you going to marry Zoe?"
Carson: "Yeah"
Colby: "Mommy, Carson's going to marry Zoe!"
Carson: "Mommy, I marry Zoe!"

Is this a normal conversation for a 4 year old and a 2 year old? Or, is it because they are their daddy's boys?
