Bluebonnets

I found a great place to take pictures in the bluebonnets this year. Colby was interested in the bluebonnets and could not believe that you would get in trouble if you picked them. He kept looking to see if there were any police around. Carson was not very happy to be there, but we got a few cute pictures anyway.

Happy Birthday Papa!

We had fun celebrating Papa's birthday. Colby and Carson love their Papa!

Ice Cream Truck

We walked outside the other day and heard the ice cream truck music playing. Colby asked where the music was coming from. I guess he had never seen the the ice cream truck before. I remember being so excited when the ice cream truck came to our neighborhood when I was young. All the kids in the neighborhood would come running with their 25-50 cents. We ran inside and got $2...a dollar for each of the boys and went back outside. I let the boys pick what they wanted (although they only had two choices...everything else was more than $1!) They thought it was so great that they could get ice cream from a truck driving down the street! They went in the backyard and enjoyed their ice cream bars together. Sweet memories!

Spring Break 2009

This was my first Spring Break in 8 years! I think that was the hardest thing to get used to at my first job after college. Spring Break time came and I was working every day that week. Now I finally have a job that gives me Spring Break! So what did I do for Spring Break? Go to the beach? Go on a little road trip? Sit on a patio somewhere and enjoy the beautiful weather outside? NO! I organized a garage sale. I guess I did get to enjoy the beautiful weather because I as out in the garage a lot of the time. This garage sale was supposed to take place months ago, but something else always came up. Jeremy wanted his garage back, so I finally did it. It wasn't as successful as I had hoped, but we did get rid of a bunch of stuff and ended up making about $400!
I did get a few other things done over Spring Break. Colby and Carson went to the dentist. This was Colby's second visit and Carson's first. They both did great! I also took Colby and Kaden to the Omni Theater in Fort Worth. We saw Dinosaurs Alive. Colby absolutely LOVED it! He is into dinosaurs and he thought it was was neat how they look for fossils. Here are a couple pictures from the Omni and the museum.

Time Out

Jeremy and I are far from perfect parents. I think parenting is a learning process. You make mistakes and learn from them. And then there are times you make mistakes and don't care because you are so tired and frustrated. I just hope those times don't scar our children!

Time-out in our house is on the rug by the front door. The culprit has to sit on the rug until we tell them they can get up. Usually it's four minutes for Colby and two minutes for Carson, but we have been known to forget Colby there. (We can't forget Carson because he is usually crying the whole time). After sitting in time-out, they have to come and tell us why they were in time-out and say they are sorry. Carson has definitely spent more time in time-out than Colby had by this age. That's no shock for anyone who knows our little Carson though!
I don't remember why Carson was in time-out the other day, but this is the conversation Jeremy and I overheard Colby having with his little brother....

Colby: Carson, when you get in time-out, you have to say sorry so you can get up.
Carson: Yeah.
Colby: Say sorry, Carson. Say it alot of times so Mommy will let you up. That's how you do it.
Carson: Oh.
Colby: Carson, you didn't say sorry. Yell it really loud so they hear you like this...I'M SORRY!
Carson: SORRY!
Jeremy and I thought this was so funny. Colby is already trying to give Carson some brotherly advice....too bad they are teaming up against us already!

Girls Weekend in Austin

I haven't been keeping up with blogging as often as I had planned. I promise...I will try harder.
In February we had a girls weekend in Austin. It had definitely been too long since all of us got together. Kathy and I had fun driving to Austin Friday night. I was laughing so hard I was crying which made it difficult to see the road! Amber, Gretchen, Lisa, Kathy and I had such a great time together except when I was forced to get up and sing karaoke. I was TERRIBLE! I sound much better singing in the car with the radio! We drank too much and slept too little, but isn't that what a Girls Weekend is all about?
